JMS held it’s annual Black History Program February 28th. Kristina Jenkins led the Pledge of Allegiance and Moment of Silence. The Purpose was given by Adrienna Conner-Harrison. Kadra Sanders was the Narrator for the program. The JMS Band played “When the Saints Go Marching In” followed by the JMS Chorus performing “Order My Steps” with soloists Jeffrey Crawford and Brya Timmons. Our Praise Dancers, Zha’Mira Cross, Zhakia Cross and Lakashia Howard performed next. Ethan Swinton recited the poem “Invictus.” The History of Music included James Brown and the Supremes performed by JMS students. Maya Angelou’s poem, “Caged Bird” was recited by Saniaa More. “Yes We Can” was presented by Mariole Rawls. Mrs. Ford closed the program with remarks to the assembly.
